Charging Audi Electric Vehicles

In contrast to the smaller battery of the Audi A3 e-tron PHEV, the all-electric e-tron sports a 95.0-kWh lithium-ion battery with an EPA-rated driving range of 204 miles. The e-tron can charge at a rate up to 11kW from a level 2 charger and 155kW from a DC fast charger, making it one of the fastest charging EVs on the market. Both models use the industry-standard J1172 plug type for level 2 charging. Of Audi’s offerings, only the Audi e-tron supports DC fast charging, using the SAE Combined Charging Connector (CCS) plug.

With a versatile line of home charging solutions, there is a JuiceBox for every electric Audi model. The JuiceBox 32 can comfortably accommodate the smaller battery of the Audi A3 plug-in hybrid and max out the vehicle’s charge rate. With the e-tron’s large battery, it is important to have a powerful level 2 charging station at home for all of your residential charging needs. Using a high performance level 2 EV charger like the powerful JuiceBox 48, the e-tron has a charging time of around eight hours to charge fully. By comparison, it would take over 60 hours of continuous charging to charge the battery-powered vehicle with a level 1 EV charging cable.
