The Audi e-tron is the first fully electric car offering from Audi, and an early example of an expanding EV portfolio offered by the Volkswagen Group. Audi Plug-In Hybrid Models
Audi A3 e-tron
First unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show, the Audi A3 e-tron plug-in hybrid was brought to market a year later, representing Audi’s first plug-in model. With an 8.8 kWh battery pack, the A3 e-tron delivers an all-electric range of 31 miles. The A3 e-tron’s onboard charger can charge at a maximum rate of 3.6 kW. The A3 e-tron saw commercial success and is widely recognized as an impressive first step by Audi into the world of electric vehicles.

Charging Audi Electric Vehicles
In contrast to the smaller battery of the Audi A3 e-tron PHEV, the all-electric e-tron sports a 95.0-kWh lithium-ion battery with an EPA-rated driving range of 204 miles. The e-tron can charge at a rate up to 11kW from a level 2 charger and 155kW from a DC fast charger, making it one of the fastest charging EVs on the market. Both models use the industry-standard J1172 plug type for level 2 charging. Of Audi’s offerings, only the Audi e-tron supports DC fast charging, using the SAE Combined Charging Connector (CCS) plug.
