The Chevy Volt was first introduced in late 2010 as a 2011 model and has since become one of the world’s most popular plug-in electric vehicles. The Chevy Volt is a plug-in hybrid electric car that was made from 2011 to 2019. Chevy upgraded the charging capabilities for the Volt numerous times during its nine-year production life, and in 2016 the Volt’s battery size was increased from 16 kWh to 18.4 kWh. When running solely on the electric motor, the Volt can expect a range of 30 to 50 miles, depending on the way the car is driven.

DC fast chargers are great for charging a fully electric vehicle, but because the Chevy Volt is a plug-in hybrid, a DC charging system's capabilities would be superfluous.
